the guy at 1:33 did the right thing… if u get PC in tow or parachute in tow in this case turn to the side backward or frontwards to clear the ‘burple’ which is a low pressure system behind the back of a parachutist cause by air flow over the body
Parabolic parachutes do not have sliders because for 1. they are round and the lines evenly separate apart unlike square canopies and 2. they are quite large and require lots of air to open them in turn being generally slower to open thus not requiring a slider. (the whole purpose of sliders on ram air chutes are to slow opening for comfort and to keep lines where they should)
why round parachute dont have a slider, it depens, sometimes the have a sock over the parachute to brake down the opening so the lines can sterch out first, but an emergency parachute dont have this sockover the chute, it start to open rigth away fro ob. resons.

@joshbanford
Up until he dumped the reserve into the main…. but it’s just 2 rounds, they don’t usually fight each other like 2 squares will.
1:20, bye-bye kicker plate.

they are test parachutists. testing the chutes in a mannor and “body position” that would be experienced during an emergency bail out of non-jumpers

One possible reason for all the line over malfunctions is poor body position when deploying ….Don’t deploy while on your back

Some rounds do have sliders. And some emergency parachute do have a “sock” (sleeve) on the canopy.
